Reebok Zigtech
Production Company: Metaphrinie
Agency: Glue - London
Director: Matt Verity
Background: Reebok launching a new line in shoe excellence. Zigtech "An energy drink for your feet"
The visuals are by Metaphrinie in Dubai - Berlin who have created a visual laser like movements and characteristics for the Zigtech line.
How we did it: We have mentioned in the past how we have moved to create our sound design in a more physical method, which is creating to the pictures and the movements within the pictures.
We use a custom build software - hardware device that allows us to match each frame and its distinct path of movement, which is evident within the Zigtech shoe and how it rotates and swirls around.
The source material used ranged from Max Msp Glitch sounds which we then controlled in our studio.
and also swooshes specifically created to give the timbre of the lasers. The musical backdrop was scored to give a lush warm feel. Basic backdrop music to allow the sound design, which we think is quite "out there" in advertising to shine through. Often with great visuals they provide us with the inspiration to how the overall sound will develop. The Zigtech, is fast, sharp, energised and precise and the sound follows these attributes.
Sounds we created include: Music score, laser movements, shoe line follow, swooshes, swishes and everything in between. Transformer-esque [yes we are still loving the Transformers sound] glides and impacts, rotation sounds [created using gestural physical movement input] Running energise sfx. ReeZig? sfx.
